Dolphin Laser Safety Curtain Pod – modular laser safety enclosure
Dolphin Laser Safety Curtain Pod from Lasermet is a freestanding and modular laser safety enclosure developed for use with handheld laser welding systems. The enclosure creates a defined working area that helps protect people nearby from accidental exposure to laser radiation.
The system is based on Lasermet Dolphin Laser Blocking Curtains and is supplied as a flexible self-assembly solution. The structure can be dismantled and reassembled in a new location, making the Dolphin Pod particularly suitable where the laser working area needs to be moved or changed over time.
Freestanding and flexible design
Dolphin Pod consists of a modular freestanding frame fitted with laser safety curtains. The standard version measures 2.4 × 2.4 × 2.4 metres and features a manually operated curtain entrance and an open roof for ventilation.
The system is supplied in flat-pack form and is designed for assembly by the user. Its modular construction also makes it possible to connect multiple Dolphin Pods to create a larger enclosed working area.
Dolphin Laser Blocking Curtains
The enclosure uses Lasermet’s black Dolphin Laser Blocking Curtain material. The curtain material is certified according to EN 12254 – Screens for Laser Working Places.
The protection levels and PEL values below refer to the Dolphin curtain material.

Can be equipped with Interlock®
Dolphin Laser Safety Curtain Pod can be complemented with a Lasermet Interlock® system. The solution can then be equipped with a safety interlock switch at the entrance, an LED warning sign and an emergency stop connected to a Lasermet Interlock® Controller.
When the entrance is open or not secured, the interlock system can be used to prevent laser operation, while the LED sign indicates the current laser status.
Different system configurations
Dolphin Pod is available from a basic curtain enclosure without interlock to more advanced configurations with an integrated Interlock® system. Solutions are also available where Lasermet’s ALF Laser Welding Helmet is integrated into the safety system.
For handheld laser welding
Dolphin Laser Safety Curtain Pod is primarily developed for handheld laser welding applications where a defined laser working area is required without installing a permanent laser safety cell.
The modular design makes the system suitable for production environments, workshops, development areas and other applications where the required laser working area may change over time.
