TYKMA Electrox Minilase XL
Minilase XL is a compact and flexible laser marking machine for industrial production where high marking quality needs to be combined with efficient and simple operation. Its generous working area and automatic pneumatic door make the system particularly suitable for repetitive marking and higher production volumes.
Compact Laser Marking Machine for Efficient Production
TYKMA Electrox Minilase XL combines a generous working area with a compact benchtop design.
The system is designed for companies that need to mark both smaller components in larger batches and larger parts without investing in a full-size floor-standing workstation.
The enclosed design, automatic door and motorised focusing provide an efficient and ergonomic workflow for the operator.
Automatic Door for a Faster WorkflowAutomatisk dörr för snabbare arbetsflöde
One of the key differences between Minilase XL and Minilase XL Manual is the automatic door.
Minilase XL is equipped with a pneumatically operated vertical door that opens on three sides. The design provides excellent access to the working area and simplifies loading and unloading of components.
In automatic operating mode, the system can perform a complete sequence in which the door closes, the marking cycle is carried out and the door then opens automatically.
This reduces the number of manual operations and makes Minilase XL particularly suitable for repetitive series production.
Large Working Area in a Compact Format
Minilase XL is designed to provide a large usable working area without taking up unnecessary space in the production environment.
The three-sided opening door provides excellent access, even when larger components or fixtures need to be positioned inside the machine.
The T-slot worktable simplifies the installation of fixtures and makes it possible to create repeatable production setups for different components.
This makes Minilase XL an attractive alternative when the capacity of a smaller benchtop system is insufficient, while a larger floor-standing machine is not required.
Motorised Focusing and Focus Finder
Minilase XL features motorised height adjustment of the laser head for setting the correct focus height.
With Focus Finder, the operator receives visual assistance to quickly establish the correct working distance for the component.
This simplifies changeovers between products of different heights and contributes to consistent and repeatable marking quality.
Adapted to Your Material and Application
Minilase XL is a flexible system platform that can be configured with different laser technologies depending on the material to be marked and the desired result.
For marking metals and many engineering plastics, fibre or MOPA fibre lasers are typically used.
For other materials and applications, UV, green or CO₂ lasers may provide a better solution.
LMI helps you select the right laser technology, power and optics based on the material, part geometry, production volume and marking requirements.
What Can Be Marked with Minilase XL?
With the appropriate laser source, Minilase XL can be used for permanent marking of a wide range of materials, including:
- Stainless steel
- Steel
- Aluminium and anodised aluminium
- Titanium
- Brass and other metals
- Many types of engineering plastics
- Painted and coated components
- Other materials using suitable laser technology
The materials that can be marked and the results that can be achieved depend on the selected laser type, wavelength, power and material properties.
Typical Applications
Minilase XL is suitable for a wide range of industrial product marking and traceability applications, including:
- Serial numbers and part numbers
- Data Matrix codes and QR codes
- Barcodes
- Logos and graphical symbols
- Text and product information
- Nameplates and identification plates
- Tools and machine components
- Automotive components
- Electronic components
- Medical technology components
- UID and traceability marking
- Marking multiple components within the same fixture
Laser marking provides a permanent mark and normally requires no consumables such as inks, labels or chemicals.
Designed for Repetitive Production
Minilase XL is particularly effective when the same type of component needs to be marked repeatedly.
A customised fixture can be used for fast and repeatable positioning. The operator places the component in the fixture, while the system’s automatic door sequence helps streamline each marking cycle.
This creates a simple production workflow and reduces the amount of manual handling between individual parts.
At the same time, the system retains the flexibility to be quickly reconfigured for other products and marking jobs.
Option for Marking Larger Components
Minilase XL also offers a special service mode for applications where the size or geometry of the component means that it cannot fit entirely within the standard workstation.
The system can then be operated in Class 4 laser mode, which requires specific laser safety measures.
This feature can provide additional flexibility when marking large or irregularly shaped components.
Class 4 laser operation requires a proper risk assessment, appropriate protective equipment and suitable safety procedures. LMI can provide advice on laser safety and the appropriate system solution when required.

Minilase XL or Minilase XL Manual?
Both models offer a generous working area in a compact benchtop format.
The key difference is how the workstation is opened and how the marking cycle is managed.
Minilase XL Manual features a spring-assisted manual door and is a cost-effective option when the operator can manually open and close the workstation between marking cycles.
Minilase XL, on the other hand, features an automatic pneumatic door and can automate the door movements as part of the marking cycle. This makes the model particularly attractive for repetitive production where shorter handling times and an efficient workflow are important.
LMI can help you determine which version is best suited to your production volume, components and desired level of automation.
Which Configuration Do You Need?
Selecting the right laser marking system is not simply a matter of machine size or laser power.
Material, surface treatment, desired marking result, cycle time, component size and fixturing all influence which solution will provide the best results.
LMI has extensive experience in industrial laser technology and can assist throughout the entire process – from sample marking and selection of the laser source to fixturing, system configuration, installation and commissioning.
Send Us a Part for Sample Marking
Are you unsure which laser or system configuration is best suited to your product?
Send us a part or material sample and we will help you evaluate the application. We can carry out sample marking and assess factors such as contrast, marking speed, level of detail and the most suitable laser technology.
For repetitive production, we can also discuss fixturing, cycle times and how the workflow can be optimised.
This allows the right solution to be verified before making an investment decision.
The system’s marking field and other technical characteristics depend on the selected laser source, optics and system configuration.
