Zetalase XL UV 3D

Advanced UV Laser Marking with Dynamic 3D Focusing

Zetalase™ XL UV from TYKMA Electrox is a powerful floor-standing UV laser system for permanent marking of heat-sensitive materials and advanced components. With the optional 3D upgrade, a 10 W, 355 nm UV laser is combined with dynamic focusing over a 40 mm range, enabling precise marking even on complex and multi-level surfaces.

The system features a large working area and is suitable both for larger components and for processing multiple parts simultaneously in fixtures or trays. Zetalase XL UV is designed for industrial production and can be configured with options including dynamic 3D focusing, a linear Y-axis and rotary devices.

355 nm UV Laser – Marking with Minimal Heat Impact

Zetalase XL UV uses a 10 W DPSS UV laser with a wavelength of 355 nm. The short wavelength of the UV laser enables materials to be processed with very little heat transferred to the surrounding area.

This so-called cold marking process is particularly useful for materials and components where thermal impact must be minimized to achieve high-quality marking results.

Typical applications include:

  • Plastics and polymers
  • Polyethylene
  • Silicone
  • Medical devices and components
  • Electronics and electronic chips
  • Glass
  • Components requiring extremely fine and high-contrast markings

UV technology makes the system particularly suitable for demanding applications where conventional laser marking could result in unwanted thermal effects.

Dynamic 3D Focusing

With the optional 3D Laser Upgrade, Zetalase XL UV provides a 40 mm dynamic focus range in the Z-axis.

Unlike conventional 2D marking, the focal position can be dynamically adjusted during the marking process. This makes the technology suitable for components with varying heights and complex three-dimensional geometries.

The 3D functionality enables marking on surfaces such as:

  • Curved surfaces
  • Angled surfaces
  • Components with different height levels
  • Irregular geometries
  • Parts where the marking extends across different surface heights

The dynamic focusing system maintains high marking quality even when the surface of the component does not lie within a single plane.

Large Working Area and High Flexibility

Zetalase XL UV is designed as a full-size floor-standing system with a generous working area. The maximum part size is 609 × 762 mm (24 × 30 in), or up to 1,066 × 382 mm (42 × 15 in) when utilizing the divider wall opening.

The standard optics provide a marking field of 100 × 100 mm, while optional F-Theta lenses are available for marking fields up to 260 × 260 mm.

An optional linear Y-axis gantry is also available for applications requiring an even larger continuous processing area, as well as rotary devices for marking around cylindrical components.

Designed for Industrial Production

Zetalase XL UV is a complete Class 1 laser system equipped with a vertical pneumatic safety door. The door automatically opens and closes between marking cycles, providing good ergonomics and short handling times in repetitive production environments.

The system can also be operated in Class 4 mode for processing larger or longer components. This requires the dedicated service override key together with the necessary laser safety measures.

The machine base integrates the laser control system, industrial water chiller, PC and electrical cabinet into a single compact industrial platform.

Minilase Pro – Powerful Laser Marking Software

Zetalase XL UV can be operated with Minilase™ Pro, TYKMA Electrox’s 64-bit software for creating and managing laser marking jobs.

The software supports:

  • Text
  • Barcodes
  • 2D codes
  • DXF
  • AI
  • PLT
  • BMP
  • JPEG
  • Automated date coding
  • Serialization
  • CAD tools
  • Preconfigured material library with laser parameters
  • Rotary device control for 360° marking

This enables users to create everything from simple product markings to advanced identification and traceability solutions.

Icon Interface for Integration and Automation

For more advanced production environments, Icon Interface provides functionality for communication and integration with higher-level production systems.

Features include TCP/IP communication, SQL Server connectivity, PLC interfacing, advanced network data retrieval and data entry via barcode scanning. The system can also handle operator restrictions, password protection and detailed photographic instructions for part fixturing and handling.
