Lasermet ICS-LLDC – Light Lock Door Controller
Lasermet ICS-LLDC is a specialised controller for the safe sequential operation of light lock doors in controlled laser areas. The system prevents the inner and outer doors from being opened simultaneously, helping to maintain the integrity of the protected environment while personnel enter or leave the laser area.
ICS-LLDC can interface with Lasermet’s ICS Interlock® system and can be combined with door interlocks, magnetic door locks, access control, push-buttons and other safety components.
Sequential Control of Two Doors
ICS-LLDC is designed for a light lock arrangement incorporating an inner and an outer door. An integrated interlocking mechanism ensures that both doors cannot be opened simultaneously.
When one door is open, the other remains locked. This creates a controlled passage between the surrounding environment and the protected laser area.
Integration with Lasermet Interlock Systems
ICS-LLDC can interface with a Lasermet ICS Interlock® Controller and form part of a complete laser safety system.
A standard configuration can include:
- an inner and an outer light lock door
- interlock switches for monitoring door status
- magnetic door locks
- keypad access control
- push-buttons for access
- Lasermet ICS Interlock® Controller
The doors act as inputs to the system, while magnetic door locks are used as outputs to control access.
Access Control Integration
ICS-LLDC can be integrated with access control systems to manage and restrict entry to the laser area. The system can, for example, be combined with the Lasermet ICS-KP-23 Access Keypad for authorised access.
This enables a controlled light lock arrangement in which both door position and user authorisation can form part of the access control function.
Door Override
The system provides a Door Override function for controlled entry and exit without tripping the laser interlock system.
The override function can therefore be used where the safety concept of the installation permits access under controlled conditions.
Real-Time Status Indication
LED indicators provide real-time information about the status of the doors. Operators can quickly determine the current condition of the system and whether each door is available or locked.
Proximity Sensors
ICS-LLDC can be used with proximity sensors to detect people or objects near or obstructing the light lock doors.
This provides additional control over the sequential operation of the doors and contributes to safer passage through the light lock.
Security Alarms
The system can incorporate security alarms or alerts to indicate unauthorised access attempts or other irregularities within the door system.
This allows door control to be combined with both laser safety and controlled access to the protected area.
DIN Rail Mounting
ICS-LLDC is designed for DIN rail mounting, allowing convenient and organised installation in control panels and electrical cabinets alongside other components of the safety system.
For Laser Areas Requiring Controlled Access
ICS-LLDC is particularly suitable for installations where personnel need to pass into or out of a controlled area without allowing both doors separating the laser area to be open simultaneously. Applications can include industrial laser installations, laboratories, research facilities and other controlled laser environments.
The controller can be combined with other products from the Lasermet Interlock® range to create a complete solution based on the installation’s risk assessment and access requirements.
